Refresh your current skills and knowledge to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition.

Many organisations require workers who operate a chainsaw to refresh their knowledge every 3-5 years depending on their contract. The refresher helps demonstrate that you can correctly cross-cutting fallen timber using safe cutting techniques.

Industry workers such as Electrical Supply Industry (ESI), arborists and horticulture crews need to refer to their contracts for the mandatory refresher period requirement.

 

Choose to study in either a face to face classroom or online through E-Learning anytime or anywhere

Short Course

Duration: 1/2 Day, approximately 3.5 hours

Operate and Maintain Chainsaws refresher typically takes 3.5 hours to complete. You will have the option of Face to Face classes or online E-learning to demonstrate you are current with your theory on how to safely use a chainsaw in the workplace or as a hobby.

Unit Description

Develop the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition.

This course applies to cross-cutting fallen timber using safe cutting techniques.

This course is suitable for individuals who apply low risk work procedures and comply with worksite health and safety requirements when operating hand-held chainsaws to carry out routine work.

  1. Assist in preparation of work-site
  2. Recognise and apply workplace safety procedures
  3. Check and prepare chainsaw for use
  4. Operate chainsaw
  5. Complete and check chainsaw operation
