Operate and Maintain Chainsaws is a two day course that allows you to successfully develop the correct techniques and to cross cut timber safely.

Unit Description

Develop the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition.

This course applies to cross-cutting fallen timber using safe cutting techniques.

This course is suitable for individuals who apply low risk work procedures and comply with worksite health and safety requirements when operating hand-held chainsaws to carry out routine work.

  2. Recognise and apply workplace safety procedures
  3. Check and prepare chainsaw for use
  4. Operate chainsaw
  5. Complete and check chainsaw operation

You can complete your theory anytime anywhere. You don't have to sit in a classroom!

You will be able to access our Trainers and Assessors through the e-learning portal.

We offer LLN support to help guide you through your learning journey with us. 

Once you have finished your theory you will automatically sent a notification of the Practical Day training location. 

Practical Location

Our Trainers and Assessors take you hands on out into the field to apply your knowledge and form your skills in operating chainsaws.
