This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare for tree felling, fell small trees and complete felling operations where hazards have been assessed as low risk.
The unit applies to individuals who apply low risk work procedures and comply with worksite health and safety requirements when felling trees under general supervision, with limited autonomy or accountability.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Our theory training room is a bright, comfortable space set up for learning and discussion. You’ll find plenty of seating, a projector for presentations, and individual workbooks so you can follow along with the trainer. The layout makes it easy to see, hear, and take part, whether it’s a group discussion or note-taking.
Our Training Room has access to DNA Trainings Student Wi-Fi so that you can go online in the Learner Portal to read through the digital Workbook at any time and complete your written assessments.
Experience hands-on learning in our simulated training environments with DNA Training Solutions, set across more than 200 acres of lush vegetation. Our practical training locations in the Yarra Ranges are available year-round, with sites in Beaconsfield and Don Valley.

We use the STIHL MS 261 C-M Professional Chainsaws as our chainsaw of choice for forming your skills from the STIHL SHOP in DANDENONG
We own our VERMEER BC700XL Wood Chipper to take onsite so that you can chip what you prune on the day! The BC700XL is the smallest machine in Vermeer's wood chipper line, the BC700XL design is based on operator feedback and focuses on productivity advantage and ease-of-use.
